Patient Link was founded in 1990, and is a registered charity, which is totally funded by voluntary donations and fundraising events. Our main aim is to provide a transport service for patients of the Willow Green Surgery who find it difficult to attend appointments at the surgery, local hospitals, clinics and health centres etc.
The service is operated by a team of unpaid volunteers – drivers and office-based co-ordinators. In return, patients are invited to make a donation towards Patient Link. Fund raising events are held during the year and, in addition, there is usually a Christmas raffle. Surplus funds are used to cover overheads and also provide the Surgery with additional equipment to improve the well-being of its patients.
Periodically we organise health education talks at local venues, including the surgery and these are free and open to all.
If you are a Willow Green patient and require assistance with transport, then ring 01903 788142, but please give at least 48 hours’ notice if possible.
If you feel that you could help in any way, and would like to become involved, then ring the above number and leave a message for the Secretary.
